At Greenfields, we are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is supported to achieve and be the best they can be. We are committed to ensuring children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are supported to ensure they receive the right support in order to reach their full potential.
Mrs Evans is the SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator). If you have concerns about your child please speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance. If you then need further support Mrs Evans is available to contact via the office.
We are fortunate to have an allocated school family worker from South West Herts Partnership called Caroline Vine-Lott.
We follow the national SEND Code of Practice (0–25 years) and aim to:
- Identify children’s needs early
- Work closely with parents and carers
- Listen to the views of the child
- Collaborate with external professionals
- Regularly review support and progress
We use a graduated approach called Assess, Plan, Do, Review (APDR) to tailor support to each child’s needs. If your child is on our school SEND register, you will receive a termly IPP (Individual Provision Plan) outlining what support you can expect your child to receive on top of that which is ordinarily available to all pupils.
Each year, we publish a full report which explains our approach to SEND in more detail:
- Accessibility Plan 2026-2029 (577.72KB)
- SEND Policy (504.37KB)
There is also a wealth of other support available outside school:
