Our Football Teams

Our football teams have impressed us so much this year with their competitive spirit and sporting attitude.

October 2022 in Year 6

We have been working hard in class and lots of learning has taken place In October, we have been: Reading Goodnight Mr Tom and writing diary entries, letters home, newspapers Extending our learning about fractions Making propaganda posters in our WW2 topic Continuing our work with Jo from Watford Trust on having a positive mindset

St Alban’s Cathedral

Year 4 had a fantastic day out at St Alban’s Cathedral. They learnt how the Cathedral got its name and in the afternoon they made Roman style mosaics. They experienced what it was like to be a Roman soldier and got to wear some of the armour.  

Tri-Golf tournament

On Thursday, Year 4 took part in the Tri-golf festival. They split into three teams to compete against 4 other local schools. Greenfields finished 3rd, 3rd and 2nd, and even though they didn’t win they showed great teamwork and supported each other.

Our Trek into the Wilderness – the Rainforests at Kew Gardens

Year 5 visited Kew Gardens to learn all about rainforests, as we had been learning about South America, rivers and the Amazon Rainforest. Year 5 were invited to a Harry Potter themed day at Merchant Taylors’ School during which they took part in several lessons all themed around wizardry and witchcraft. World Book Day

We had fun on World Book Day reading and sharing some of our favourite books. We had a class quiz involving picture rounds and a book-based film soundtrack round! Some of us came back to school in the evening to hear books being shared by teachers across the school.
